Below first are recently released images and news releases, afterwards are a categorized (somewhat alphabetical) list of astronomy and space related links.
Check out my Hubble research link towards the bottom. Also look for an article about the Hubble Amateur program in June's Sky&Tel.
I primarily study solar system objects so many of the links for now concentrate on that area. If you know of good sites for galaxies, black holes, etc. email them to me, thanks.

Enjoy George Lewycky . 11/11/96

So you wanna buy a telescope or binoculars !

AVOID buying a scope in a department store, those $100-200 scopes arent worth the investment. Binoculars (10x50) are really good to start out with, perfect for comets and they are very portable. And can be found in fine sporting good stores. Pick up Astronomy magazine or Sky&Telescope and look for a scope there, if there is still an interest and need for something more powerful and more expensive. Look also for Vendors/Dealers below.

How to receive press releases via email from NASA and the Space Telescope Science Institute

    NASA's Press Releases

NASA press releases and other information are available automatically by sending an Internet electronic mail message to domo@hq.nasa.gov . In the body of the message (not the subject line) users should type the words "subscribe press-release" (no quotes). The system will reply with a confirmation via E-mail of each subscription. A second automatic message will include additional information on the service.

SPACE TELESCOPE LIST SERVICE NOW AVAILABLE

To receive Hubble Space Telescope press release text and other information via e-mail automatically, subscribe to the Space Telescope Science Institute list server by sending an Internet electronic mail message to listserv@stsci.edu .

o Leave the subject line blank.

o In the body of the message, type the words "subscribe pio " (no quotes). Replace "" with your real name (not a user/account name) without the brackets and quotes. For example, someone named Jane Doe would use: subscribe pio Jane Doe.

You will receive acknowledgement of your subscription via e-mail and receive e-mail with new press releases.

NOTE: there may be some overlap of emails between NASA's and Space Telescopes.
